About Us

Testimonial:

Debbie, I just want to thank you so much for helping me successfully sell a home that was only 6 days on the market.  You were able to arrange the furniture to maximize the space and I even had one buyer mention they were surprised people lived in the house it looked so good.  Your staging lead to a full price offer for the home!  I would be glad to work with you anytime!  The experience was absolutely wonderful!

Very Respectfully,

Christopher Baker, ABR, ASP, ASR, e-PRO

My Home Staging Story:

In 1997, after living in Dallas, Texas for fourteen years, my husband, children and I decided to move to the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.  We had lived in our Texas home for seven years and had maintained it, but had not made any cosmetic improvements(updates).  The layout was perfect for us and thanks to one of those good old Texas hailstorms, we had a new roof.  We had purchased living room furniture, but the home still needed updating in certain areas.  I wish you could have seen the gold foil wallpaper in the master bath.  Anyway...we were not looking forward to the drawn out process of keeping the house in showing order for months on end with four people and a sixty pound dog living there.  We wanted the house to sell as soon as possible and we were hoping to make a little money.  So we got to work removing wallpaper, painting, washing windows, clearing out closets and cleaning the house.  After our Real Estate Agent placed the "for sale" sign in the yard, we got a contract from the first potential buyer who walked through the door.

In March of 1997 we visited Asheville, fell in love with it and were blessed with finding a wonderful house in a friendly neighborhood.  I still remember every home we looked at during those five days... some had outdated exteriors and interiors, some were clean but cluttered, one was vacant and some just weren't right for us.  The home that we bought was Staged.  I'm not sure that the homeowner realized that she had Staged it, but she had.  Everything inside and out was clean, the closets were half-full, the furniture was the correct scale for the rooms, the paint colors were up to date and there was no clutter.  Of course, there were things about the home that we weren't crazy about; things that we knew we would need to change, but we felt that the home was well maintained, clean and spacious.  The sellers accepted our contract.

Because of our experience, I became a firm believer in Home Staging.  In 2005 I earned my Accredited Staging Professional certification and have since enjoyed helping my clients with preparing their homes for the Real Estate Market.  Making a stressful process easier for my clients, a process that gets results, is very rewarding.  I love my work!
